This is a genuine cry for help

Help me with my novel

I have mentioned before that I have two former work colleagues that have written novels, one of which had inspired me to try. Not really knowing what to write about and having a young family, I thought it would be a great idea to write through the eyes of a child and the world they see in front of them.

I thought it would be simple to write and as I have a curious mind, this was my way in, I came up with some great topics, that I thought people would find interesting, some questions that would make you think yourself, and many which you may not know the answer to.

One of my favorite questions was “If you enjoy wasting time, is that time really wasted?”

I also put into the story a question my daughter asked me, which was, how much salt is in the sea? In case you are wondering it is 29,200ppm (that’s parts per million)

The problem with this novel was I started to get bored writing it, at first it was exciting, however as my motivation dropped dramatically, a few days of not writing turned into weeks then I just stopped.

It was a dark day when he was unable to save his mother, funny, that now I have given you a brief synopsis of that story I actually feel like picking that story back up.

I am currently attempting to write another novel, this so far has been fun, I am five chapters in and just over 20,000 words. The story is about two characters, David and Andrew. They are best friends and different in so many ways.

Andrew is a successful man and about to discover new technology that will change the world forever, let’s hope it does not get into the wrong hands!

David is poor, has a dead-end job, single and sad, whilst Andrew would fall in a bed of roses if he fell, David would land in…
