A Jenga Game

Building a new inner temple

Gradually constructing a personality,
from a young age;
a reversed Jenga game.
Piece by piece, the tower is formed,
not only by your hands;
others also contribute to that.
At some point, you sense that many
pieces don’t suit you;
that tower is not really you.
Depending on your courage, you
start a de-construction;
a wise action.
The usual Jenga game is
played now;
numb seeking of the “how”.
Pain mixed with relief for
some “bricks”;
not easy to leave.
At some point the only way towards
freedom is seen;
epiphany.
Complete demolition is
necessary;
choosing the “you” you want to be.
Over the ruins of the old temple
you mourn;
not easy to let go.
Looking down you see the door
of the cage;
you were enslaved.
On the lock the fingertips of yours
and others;
multiple constructors are uncovered.
You realize you have the chance
to be the only builder;
free as a bird.
The Jenga game begins again,
consciously reversed this time;
a self-creator will thrive.
