The Vulnerable Soul

How will the world be if actions have no consequences?
How will people treat each other if they can just forget bad memories every time they hurt each other? When you can just easily dump garbage, do you even care where they go?

The sad truth is that it will never happen in real life. Every action has consequences. We are responsible for our actions. I have been told by many couples of their marriage struggles. I have read many marriage guidebooks yet I never feel ready for my marriage. I have made a lot of mistakes and I still do. I think God wants me to learn every day. Sometimes it is new and sometimes it is the same lessons I have failed before. I am amazed at how God uses my life situations to teach me valuable lessons. For that I am thankful. The pains from the past are partly true portrayal of me today. They make me stronger and understand life better. I have come to realize why God created human soul to be vulnerable and why he told us to be patient with one another.

But vulnerability is not weakness. It opens the door of honesty, sincerity, and truth. It binds the souls together. Whoever has a vulnerable soul can read things underneath and understand unspoken words. One sad truth is that sometimes we do not listen to understand. We listen only to reply. We only hear what we want to hear. But God created human to have vulnerable soul so that we can be sensitive, understand other people’s feelings and love each other’s true self.

Speaking of loving true self, why do we need the word “true” here?
It is because sometimes we want to be someone else. Sometimes we can’t accept our true self and we try to cover the ugliness inside. There is ugliness inside all of us. But it does not matter. There is good and bad in all of us.
They are like seeds that we can choose to water and see it bloom inside us.
We can grow the good seed with self-awareness and learning from mistakes.

As human, we have raw instincts and needs. It is natural to be self absorbed when we are in close relationship. Whether we like it or not we are prone to hurt other people without knowing. That is why God told us that the first mark of love is to be patient with one another.
